Advancement & Training

Our program promotes the values of citizenship, leadership, service, outdoors, and fitness. Our mission is also to give more youth the opportunity of making sailing and power-boating a life-long pursuit as racers, cruisers, or enthusiasts. We accomplish these goals through an active advancement program.

Advancement provides a source of personal pride and a measure of success in Scouting. Advancement in rank in Sea Scouts is a measure of nautical knowledge and your performance as a leader.  The ranks in Sea Scouting are:  Apprentice, Ordinary, Able and Quartermaster.  We are also able to earn Venturing awards.

To meet our advancement goals, we are developing the following support materials to help our youth learn and teach rank advancement.  If you need a PowerPoint viewer click on the PowerPoint logo.  These presentations are viewed best in full screen mode.  These presentations are designed to be printed as well and loaded into loose leaf notebooks to use as teaching aids onboard and in meetings
